Campionia successfully organized its 2023 summer football camp for children in Albena, Bulgaria, in the first half of July. The camp, aimed at children aged 7 to 13 (born between 2010 and 2015), was designed to bring together the best young football talents and top-tier coaches, creating what we called “The National Team of Campionia.”
The camp was highly selective, ensuring a competitive environment and allowing children to benchmark their skills against the best in Bulgaria. Parents were encouraged to attend and observe their children’s progress. The camp attracted children from leading Bulgarian football academies and even those playing for international clubs like Dinamo Zagreb, FC Koln, and Real Casarea.
The training focused on foundational skills and knowledge, emphasizing a long-term approach to player development. Coaches aimed to instill a professional mindset in the young players, focusing on key areas such as sharp passing, high-tempo play, field scanning, timing, packing numbers, weak-foot usage, ball reception, technical improvement, quick decision-making, one-on-one play, and mental fortitude.
The coaching staff included:
- Adrian Ganchev: A UEFA “A” licensed coach working at Wolverhampton Wanderers academy.
- Kiril Mitsov: A UEFA “B” licensed coach with expertise in the Coerver method.
- Kaloyan Dimitrov: A UEFA “C” licensed coach specializing in beach football training.
- Dimitar Georgiev: A UEFA “B” licensed coach with experience in the Coerver method.
- Ivo Kirilov: A UEFA “B” licensed coach with 20 years of experience in Italy, working at Cittadella academy.
- Bozhidar Dimitrov: A UEFA “B+” licensed coach working with youth players from top German clubs.
- Alexander Zahariev: A UEFA “A” licensed coach and co-founder of Campionia.
- Georgi Zahariev: A FIFA licensed football agent and founder of Campionia, who gave a lecture on mental strength.
Campionia maintained a strict selection process, ensuring only the most talented children participated. The camp was divided into two weeks, with each group limited to 12 players to ensure personalized attention. This camp was highly successful and all the available places were filled.
